Kacie is passionate about helping students realize their potential and expand their horizons. She loves spending time with her family and friends, especially playing outside with her daughter and cooking with her husband.
I really enjoy helping students expand their horizons on what they may be interested in. There are so many awesome opportunities out there for colleges and careers, and a lot of students have never considered that pursuing these is even an option for themselves. Helping students realize their potential and encouraging them to dive in and explore what they are capable of has been the best part of my job so far.
I have been a registered dental hygienist for the past 13 years, but I have felt the pull toward education for quite a while. Although I enjoyed my career as a hygienist, I knew that there was a different path for me in how I could make a difference and help others outside of the clinical setting. All in God’s good timing, our local Career Coach position opened, and with encouragement from friends and mentors in the education field, I just knew this was the perfect opportunity for me to make an impact.
All the things that so many of my wonderful teachers did throughout my school years that they did not have to do would be what made the most impact on my educational experience. Having encouragement, compassion, and even a bit of correction at times truly shaped my course for the better. I honestly believe that the pull I feel to help make a difference in other people’s lives comes from seeing that being done by the teachers I was so fortunate to have.
When I am not at work, I love to be with my family and friends. Being so blessed to have such a great support system in my life is something I cherish, and I try to make the most of it whenever I can. Everyday things like playing outside with my daughter, cooking dinner with my husband on the weekends, or running a few errands with my mom are what bring me the most joy.
